The Mind-muscle Connection

I’m going to talk about working out with intentionality or a good mind muscle connection. This is a really important concept to learn, and it can take a long time to develop depending on the muscle (months to years). Basically, you want to feel the muscle you are using contract.

I’m going to talk about working out with intentionality or a good mind muscle connection. This is a really important concept to learn, and it can take a long time to develop depending on the muscle (months to years). Basically, you want to feel the muscle you are using contract. You want to concentrate on that muscle contracting and feel it working. Sounds simple but it can be quite hard to develop sometimes, I really struggled to develop it with my lats and posterior delts and you may have some muscles that are harder for you to feel contracting. Don’t worry if you struggle with this at first just take your time and try to improve it slowly. Having good form, feeling the muscle contract, will prevent injuries and improve the results you get dramatically over time. It takes a while to master so be patient on your weight training journey.
